64-bit version doesn't open zipped DICOM [UPDATE: problem solved]

I have DICOM studies zipped on Win7 64bit using 7-Zip 4.65 32bit.

RadiAnt 64bit version fails to load them (messagebox says: "no dicom files found").
the zip file is not corrupted: if unzipped RadiAnt loads the images.

now, if I load the same zipped DICOM study on RadiAnt 32bit on WinXP 32bit, the case is laoded with no issue.

so where's the problem?

is RadiaAnt 64bit's fault or 7-Zip's fault?

to make things stranger is the fact that the same zip file correctly loads on Vista 64bit using RadiAnt 64bit

We tried that zip file and it opens without a glitch. Could it be something wrong with your installation? Perhaps missing zip.dll file in RadiAnt program folder?

the zip.dll file is present and is version 0.55.0.1

I don't know why my Win7 64bit keeps refusing read the zipped DICOM files other PC open without any issue

I'm still experiencing the same issue even on 1.3.7 beta.

I start thinking is a problem of my system... a friend of mine with Win7 64bit opens the same files with RadiaAnt witho no trouble.

Maciej, what should I try to make it work?

hmm... that's a real strange one.
Could you try to run RadiAnt and open the zip file
1) from admin account
2) from normal user account ?

hi Maciej, I've found the root of the issue... it wasn't RadiAnt's fault... it seems that 7-Zip was guilty.

I upgraded 7-Zip from release 4.65 (quite old indeed) to more recent 9.20 and now zip files are now fully readable.

please, add "solved" to the title of this thread
