Thanks, csg. However I'm sorry to dissappoint you... We have quite limited resources, which makes porting RadiAnt to other platforms impossible right now. Our focus is on Windows platform and we have still a lot of major features (3D MPR/VR/local archive/etc.) in the works or our to-do list...

I hope there'll be a version for tablets and smartphones running android very soon
Sure, it'll get very popular even if it was paid-only version.

Sorry, this will not happen soon...

No Android version is planned in the near future...

It's too bad you guys won't take up the mantle and port over to Android. A group of rads are actually thinking of building a small company just to do this based on some of the things we've seen with your viewer, since the demand is incredibly high for one at the moment.

Too bad you guys missed out on a huge market!

Well, sometimes you just can't have it all...
Our goal is to develop an exceptional DICOM viewer.
As things stand right now, we know that we can only aim for that goal on Windows platform.
Again, sorry to disappoint you.

Frankly, I don't see the advantage of using a DICOM viewer on a portable device. Reporting from a small screen, on a device that potentially lacks the computing power needed to see MPRs with MIP, not speaking of the VRT - what does it bring? And if you report using such a viewer, what will be your legal excuse if you miss something?

Windows (not RT) portable devices are something else, basically a full - blown computer in a form of a tablet, so the computing power is there.

The only use I can imagine is in surgical theater, or for quick review of images in the ward, where you only look for yourself and don't actually report anything.

I think the developer has been clear... actually the resources are focused towards optimizing the Windows version.

I think that porting RadiAnt to Android or Linux would take time off from the main development of the application.

so Linux and Android users have to cope with that. try if a Window emulator may help.

Tommy, Radiant works perfectly under x86 Linux (und Wine, including VRT, as it is CPU-based). No need to port anything here.

The situation is a little bit different with Android with ARM.

Well, it looks like RadiAnt soon will run on ARM devices, too.

Of course, this doesn't change the situation with Android. It still won't be supported.

I agree android phones or tablets or iphone screen is not appropriate for reporting but seldomly needed for other purposes.

I would suggest MedFilm for iphone.

It seems that a stable version of Wine for Android is now available: https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/android/
Has anyone successfully run RadiAnt with it?

I cannot imagine you could run x86 code on ARM that way. I think that it will allow you to run x86 code on intel Android tablets, which is a rare combination. When, it could be useful for intel based Chromebooks..

Right, even if Wine for Android exists, RadiAnt could run only on x86 devices (e.g. Chromebooks).

Guys, put a windows box somewhere (on a virtual machine preferably) and use RDP, Radiant works surprisingly smooth via RDP (tested with win 10 on virtual machine and Microsoft RDP Client)

I know that you guys are having it tough with lots of us urging you to have android based platform, and we're still hoping one day you might be able to do it someday. We'll support in some ways we could if ever you opt in to give it a try. I mean, imagine using it on samsung dex connected to a monitor, that's like a portable pc. right? this might be a bridge in some gaps to fill in? :-D
Best wishes! awesome software by the way! it had save and is still saving a lot of lives till this moment. We are currently using it here in our institution and I can say that it's fast and reliable! you made it easier for us (developing countries) to help our colleague treat their patients. Thank you!

Thank you for your kind words! We really do not plan to release RadiAnt for Android in the coming years. We're focused on one platform (and still some users complain on our slow progress ;-)
