is there a way to change the folder in which studies are saved?

I have an SSD for my OS and a regular HD for my data storage.
Is there a way to reassign where files are downloaded or saved so that I don't have to use the default folder? Would it be a registry change or is there an easier fix?
thanks

Use "more options" button

thanks for the advice but I think that this only assigns where the images are exported not where the downloaded images are stored?

The files downloaded from PACS locations are stored in a temporary folder and are deleted when the window is closed.
The path to this folder is:
c:\Users\_USERNAME_\AppData\Local\RadiantViewer\tmp\

Is there anyway of changing this temp folder to any other location?
Thank you in advance.

Suppose you would like to place the temp folder on your D: drive.
Run these commands:

rmdir /S /Q c:\Users\_USERNAME_\AppData\Local\RadiantViewer\tmp
mkdir D:\tmp
mklink /J c:\Users\_USERNAME_\AppData\Local\RadiantViewer\tmp\ D:\tmp

should I just copy those 3 codelines into a .bat file and run it?
will it permanently change the location of the RadiAnt temp folder?

Yes, you can create a bat file and run it. Or you can run Command Prompt and run them one by one. It will create a permanent link to your new temp location.

I wonder if a more "user friendly" method or option is going to be offered in one of the next release.

many newbies are not so confident using .bat files and command line so a UI-based option do manually set the "temp folder" location would be better.

I consider myself a "power user" so I already did that tweak with no troubles, but the average guy would probably ask for something easier.

Tommy, at some point, we're planning to add a proper "Settings" window do RadiAnt. The configuration will get much easier then.

I have the same problem. I want to store the files one a seperate drive. The data need to be saved permanently with RAID.
I am not a power user. Is there a more user friendly way to set up the storage location?

I tried the suggested commands: They are not recognized on my pc (Win10pro 64 bit).
Do you have any suggestions. Otherwise I can not use the Software.

Georg, do you mean the temporary files or the whole database?
Because moving the database is easy.
Search in the main menu of this webpage "manual" then "advanced topics" then "local archive"
Under that, for instance using a new database (topic multiple databases in the manual) could help you.

@Georg

If you meant the location of your local archive, then please refer to this page:

Hi,

I made a silly mistake. I moved the temp folder into another drive, but I cannot remember where.
i used the mklink command to link the c:\Users\_USERNAME_\AppData\Local\RadiantViewer\tmp folder to another folder. Is there any way to find the temp folder? I know it's somewhere, taking up alot of storage...

Thanks!

Hi! This is useful. Is there a way to make it default specifically so that the downloaded files are not deleted but saved in the database?

Specifically, I want to batch download studies from a CSV file based on patient ID and study ID tags. I run the command radiant_exe -pstv 00080020 "date" pstv 00100020 "patient_id" and it opens radiant and downloads, but to tmp folder.

Can I do this with radiant?

thank you

No, currently you cannot download studies to the local archive via command line in RadiAnt. We'll add this to our to-do list.
