Hi,

Currently you can't connect to PACS. However, check us back in a few weeks, we should have a beta version ready for testing.

Greetings

This will be a great tool, we use Osirix in Mac as a PACs server but many people told us about radiant, the tools its easy and fast but add the possibility of connection to standard pacs will be a great feature

Cheer too. But you can put in separate installation or version (may be just a service on tray icon) because I like the beauty of compact footprint of Radiant.

We will think about two separate installer versions (PACS/non-PACS). Thanks for your suggestion!

Is this available yet? Great product but lack of connection to PACS for send/receive images is a caveat

PACS connection will be a milestone in the development.

When can we expect the PACS connectivity in RadiAnt?

Having underestimated a bit the effort and after a few "distractions" we decided not to give any predictions until we have a beta version ready for testing.
Still, we will try to keep our goal of making 2013 a "PACS" year for RadiAnt :-)

Maciej

2013 is ending. will we have a PACS surprise before Xmas or it will probably see the light in 2014?

If I told you now, it wouldn't be a surprise anymore. Still, it's a few weeks left until Xmas. Anything could happen ;-)

Well, I can share a few things... The first public beta version will have a simple query & retrieve functionality. Local database will be available a few months later. Only then a simple PACS server functionality will be implemented. As always, our goal is simplicity and the best possible efficiency.

I bet you will score this goal too.
You are the "Zibi Boniek" of DICOM :-)

I have a worklist interface for PACS archive, what I want to do is pass on study UID or accession number as a command line argument while launching Radiant viewer from our software. While it gets launched it should start retrieving requested study from PACS & start displaying images simultaneously. The viewer should allow this without first doing Dicom query. This scenario is very common when somebody wants to view images from HIS/RIS.

@Tommy
Thanks! Just don't compare us to the current soccer team ;-)

@Radin
Having Q&R functionality implemented, the feature you're asking for is just a few lines of code. So you can definitely expect it (probably even in the first beta).

Definitely not a PACS server. First implementation will feature only PACS client functionality.

I think we should be patient. PACS is a milestone feature and will take time and efforts to be correctly implemented. I bet hte RadiAnt team is workin hard on it.

Hi Rupesh & Tommy,

first of all, a nice text about why software development task estimation is usually inaccurate: http://www.quora.com/Engineering-Management/Why-are-software-development-task-estimations-regularly-off-by-a-factor-of-2-3 ;-)

March/April (2014) is current estimation for the release of a beta version with PACS query & retrieve functionality.

Maciej

Rodrigo,

This error means that some other software uses the 11112 port on your PC. You can change this port in the PACS settings: http://www.radiantviewer.com/dicom-viewer-manual/pacs-configuration.htm

Hi,

You have to run some kind of PACS server/workstation on the other PC, which will allow you to use the RadiAnt PACS client feature: http://www.radiantviewer.com/dicom-viewer-manual/pacs-connectivity.htm
