There are still a few issues that need to be resolved before the official version is released - e.g. currently you can display only one RadiAnt window, there is no way to run multiple instances of the program. We will also add some command-line parameters to automatically download specific studies (by studyUID/accession number/etc.) for integration with other systems.

Keep up the good work. Great, fast and lighweight viewer. The ability to query/retrieve from other DICOM nodes is great.

It appears there is no local caching/storage of the studies that are downloaded from a remote server. First in, first out type of scenario. Is this the continued direction for the viewer as you progress?

You're right, only the most recently downloaded study (or studies), visible in RadiAnt is kept in local cache. We will stick to this behavior in the basic edition of the viewer. The next stage will be the development of a database module that will serve as the local archive of studies, this will be the first feature that will differentiate the advanced edition of RadiAnt.

In my opinion, "zero footprint" Radiant feature is a great advantage of recent release nowadays, by adding local archive option as a default setting there is a risk the app would be storing a lot of "one-time-read" studies in the time, which may couse to slowing down an overall performance of the app.
On the other hand, having a local database will open a lot of posibilities, like prefetching studies according to actual MWL. Anyway, great job up to now, gentlemen!

I have tried all beta versions of Radiant with PACS client feature.. But I couldn't manage to query mr or ct..

I have got eFilm installed on my computer, and it works fine..
Of course I did all PACS settings (on my computer and work station)..

Is there any possibility, that eFilm can prevent Radiant from normal working?

If you have set in RadiAnt the same listening port as in eFilm, then RadiAnt is not able to start listening on the same port until eFilm process is stopped/killed. However, you should still be able to search your MR/CT and view the list of patients.

From Administrative tools/ local services/ I stopped eFilms process, and it's work.

Can you implement an enhancing(sharpness)function ? -important to study lung tissue and pulmonary parenchima.

Radiant is linking up with GE PACS, I can see the worklist and even querry a single study with patient ID.

However, when I click download, images seem to be getting downloaded but the images are not displayed on the RadiAnt viewer !

For the download feature to work properly you have to make sure that:

1) the PACS server is configured with RadiAnt PC's IP address, port (default: 11112) and AE title (default: RADIANT)
2) the incoming traffic on RadiAnt PC's port (11112) is not blocked by any firewall or NAT

You can install this tool: http://www.wireshark.org/download.html to monitor the TCP traffic and see whether the transfer from a PACS server is actually started.

PACS server is RamSoft. Is there any way to make more than one Radiant client to work with the same server? I mean I can make it work if I give separate entries and IP addresses for every client on server. Could it be made with only one entry on server like giving wildcards or whole network address?

All PACS servers that we dealt with require that you specify each client's AE title, IP and port. Although it is certainly feasible and probably there is a PACS server software that allows to configure a group of clients with a common port and AE title...

Works like a charm. Tested under Windows 7 and openSuse Linux (using Wine).

Nice to have: add a button to test the PACS connection (echo) in the PACS configuration screen.

Yes, the Echo feature would definitely help with setting up the new connections and troubleshooting them.

I noticed that the speed when downloading images in the network is very slow (1-2 Mbits, 100 Mbits network lan) than the rate in local (20-30 Mbits): you gave me confirm this?

This is most probably some kind of problem with your network, or the pacs server. In our tests RadiAnt easily saturates 1000Mb/s network. While testing locally the transfer is limited only by the SSD speed.

I checked the transmission of other network lan, the problems mentioned in the previous post were not present.
Tested the program with a connection to a workstation and tac GE, everything was perfect.
I also found an oddity in the research, with conquest while the number of total images were displayed on the GE examination were not present.

Actually there will be only one instance of RadiAnt with multiple viewer windows allowed. Additionally, you will get synchronization features between those windows.

Things were not going very fast lately (at least this is how it looks from the outside) but starting from the next month we're going back to the usual rate of fresh releases of RadiAnt. Multiple windows will make to the next release and will hopefully move RadiAnt PACS client out of the beta phase.
We have two nice features that will be demoed before the end of this year and fully implemented in the coming months.

Been testing for a few months now and its the fastest program I have used. No problem pulling cases from dcm4chee or ONIS. My suggestions are:

1. Allow cget to pull images (or ideally a WADO option) so that we can view from behind a NAT or DHCP server. Right now we have to use OSIRIX to do this. It would really make the system portable and eliminate the need for a separate web viewer.
2. Allow option to display n x n images at once from the SAME series and scroll 4 at at time etc. This makes viewing ultrasounds much easier.

Thanks for your suggestions. C-GET protocol support will probably come first, before the WADO.
As for the #2, this feature was omitted because a single image display mode fits most use cases. However, you're right, it would be helpful for ultrasound images. We will consider the time frame for this functionality.

I have a question
When downloading dicom files from pacs server, where is their location? i can't seem to find them!

The dicom files downloaded from a PACS server are placed in a temporary folder that is deleted upon the closing of RadiAnt application.

My version has expired, I see the new link for the Viewer but is there a new link for the PACS client version?

I made the settings to my radiant viewer as you said: the port is 11112; the AE title is RADIANT, I made the settings of my PACS, and did an exeption on windows firewall, but still when I start the search engine I get the list of the patients, but cannot download any of them, cuz it spills out 'error'. But I got one trouble with it.
I tested DICOM connection on computer with two different local PACS installed. Connection test is successfull to both and I can get examination list from both. But the first stops image retrieving with error "PACS has to be configures with you IP, port and AE so that it knows to send the images" (wich are really different) while the second PACS works fine.

Please tell, What I`m doing wrong?
